Yes: If there are no reasons why you can't take birth control pills (smoker, a history of blood clots, etc), some pills can actually stop you from having periods. Many birth control pills may be taken in a way (by skipping the last week of inactive pills) to delay a period. If your current cycle is extremely heavy, very high doses of either estrogen or birth control pills can usually stop it.
