For some varieties: There is genetic testing available. Vulnerability is related to the hla-genes, but like most diseases with genetic vulnerabilities, just having the genes does not mean that one will have the disease. There are usually very important environmental factors. What testing is appropriate can depend on your ethnicity and other factors. If you are concerned, you should seek a referral to a geneticist.
