Not sure what u mean: Don't know what "spreading" nicotine means. The smell of tobacco smoke is from assorted other chemicals, collectively known as "tars" rather than from nicotine. If there is a tobacco smell on clothing, machine washing them usually will take away the smell, some clothes and fabrics have been so exposed to tobacco smoke that they cannot be cleaned. However, none of this exposes anybody to nicotine.

Off gassing: Don't understand your question. Off-gassing does occur off of clothes that have been exposed to smoke.
