Thirdhand smoke: I don't know of any good data quantifying effects of thirdhand smoke, but like other exposures, the effects accumulate over time. If you have asthma or other allergies, the cigarette smoke might set off an exacerbation - could cause some wheezing, chest tightness, runny nose or itchy eyes - especially if you were in a closed space for many hours. Otherwise, the effect's probably minimal.
