EDC confirmation: If your doctor has obtained an ultrasound to confirm your due date, and it was done in the first or early second trimester - then your established due date is unlikely to be far off. However, if your due date is based only on your last period, and / or a physical exam, then there is a greater possibility of error.

Yes: Your due date is 40 weeks. It is not fixed date and you may deliver before or after. If you go more than 3 weeks before your due date you are considered preterm and if you are over 42 weeks - you are considered post term. Your goal is to be somewhere between 37-42 weeks!
