Hopefully: The cause of cancer is due to gene mutation. What causes the mutation in a particular gene that causes a particular cancer is the modern question for cancer prevention. Each cancer is different so "curing cancer" is a broad statement involves understanding the cause of gene mutation for that particular type. We are making baby steps but remain a long way from it.

Yes for sure: We already know a lot about what causes cancer. Why are you concerned about this issue. Those of us who are oncologists, know tions of information about what causes cancer and how to treat ity and cure it in more than 2/3 of people who have a cancer diagnosis

Yes and no: Cancer is not a disease but rather a large group of conditions with different causes and behaviors that lead to uncontrolled cell growth, so to make a blanket statement saying: "yes we will know all there is to know" is probably not accurate. That said, current knowledge about the genetic and molecular processes that lead to cancer is substantial and has changed the way we see and treat cancer.
