I would guess: Just think about how much it hurts to bite your tongue. Tongue splitting is generally done by non-medical personal that may not have any medical training. They cannot prescribe anything for pain other than over the counter medications. Probably ibuprofen. Not a recommended procedure due to possible nerve damage and infection.
