Could be diabetes: The signs of diabetes are being thirsty all the time, being hungry all the time and urinating all the time. If she has these 3 symptoms she should see a doctor. There are other medical problems associated with constant thirst also. Eating a lot of salt and some medications can cause thirst also.

Excessive thirst: Excessive thirst could be habitual, that the child drink alot as a habit. But it also could indicate a more serious problem like diabetis mellitus, which the child usually loose weight, eat alot, and drinks alot.
