It could be: It depends what type of iud you had removed. Progesterone iuds like the Mirena (levonorgestrel) usually cause changes in your period (like skipping periods or irregular bleeding) but copper iuds like the paragard do not normally cause menstrual changes. If it was a Progesterone iud i doubt it was a period but if it was a copper iud and you were do to start your period it probably was.
