Great question: There is no easy answer to this question... Flagyl is indicated for two very different vaginal conditions. One is a sexually transmitted infection that requires your partner be treated prior to cessation of condom use. The other is called BV and is not an std but is sexually associated. Couples experiencing this condition tend to experience recurrences (even same sex couples) despite treatment.
