Why is there no medical injection to cure floaters ?

Not yet: Floaters occur when the vitreous gel that fills the eye pulls away from the back part of the eye. The "gel's" protein strands become visible causing the floaters. There are no drugs that can completely dissolve these proteins without dissolving the other good parts of the eye. The only way to get rid of them is with surgery & that's too dangerous. Some docs use a yag laser-also dangerous.

Surgery may help: There are surgeons in increasing numbers who will remove floaters. It is only worth the risk if your floaters are constant, and are staying in the center of your vision.
