New vs. Old name: "globus sensation" is another term for the sensation that something is stuck in the throat (pharynx, hence pharyngeus). It used to be referred to as globus hystericus because it was believed to be psychogenic. It is now understood that it can have physiologic and anatomic causes, so the more general terms are more accepted.
