Sometimes: Usually a oral surgeon will remove impacted wisdom teeth. It depends on the situation. They are removed if they have a cyst around them. Also if they broken through the bone and stopped growing in. The surgeon should be able to answer the reasons. Also your dentist should be able to give you an opinion
