The : Subconjunctival space ends at the junction between cornea and the sclera.

Separate spaces: The blood in a subconjunctival hemorrhage is underneath the conjunctival and over the sclera. This is a space which does not communicate with the eye interior. So blood in that space remains outside and will not enter or stain the iris nor will it enter or stain the cornea.
