I've got a bubble under my eye, what the heck is it?

Unsure?: A bublle under you eye most likely represents edema (swelling) under the covering of the white of your eye (conjunctiva). This can be due to allergies and many other conditions. This is usually self limited and can be relieved with cold pack, antihistamines and mild compression. Otc vasoconstricting eye drops may help. If there is any pain, change of vision or concern, see eye doctor quickly!

Likely a cyst: If the bubble is on the white of the eye, it usually represents a cyst - a small group of skin cells that essentially produces a water balloon under the skin of the eye. This often occurs if the eye had a scratch or from excessive rubbing that causes microscopic tears of the surface skin. An eye doctor can readily diagnose this and discuss treatment options for this condition.
