Does it hurt when you get your eyes get dialated?

Eye dilation: No, the act of dilating your eyes will not hurt, but if you go out into the bright sunlight afterwards, it will hurt because your pupils cannot constrict for a period of time afterwards. The effect goes away in a few hours. Bring some sunglasses with you to such an exam just in case!

Not at all: Eye dilation does not hurt. The most you will experience is blurred vision when trying to see up close, and the sensation that everything is a lot brighter. Be sure to bring sunglasses to the examination, although most eye doctor offices offer shades to wear after dilation.
