Other options: There are other options that are less invasive. I would suggest discussing options with your physician or a sleep specialist. They may include cpap, oral appliances, changes in sleep position, or weight loss.

Varies: Surgery is only one of the options available. Oral appliances are the first line of treatment for mild to moderate sleep apnea or for someone with severe who can't or won't use a CPAP machine. Surgery is usually the third option for treatment. Other lines of treatment should be tried before surgery.
