C below: U may have shin splints, a common DX used 4 strained foot dorsiflexos in the frotn outer side of ur shin. When u descend stairs these musles r activated 2 keep ur foot from flopping downward. It is like a brack. U do not activate these going up stairs, rest, ice nsaids, & modify ur activity 2 spare them from stress until gone. Then start slowly again.
