See this often: The fibula is the bone on the outside of the leg that sticks out on the outside of the ankle. It's not uncommon to see bone/calcification below (distal to) that ankle bone. Could mean that the bone didn't fuse completely at a growth center, or it's an extra little piece of bone (accessory ossicle) or that there was a prior injury to the bone or ligaments. Usually doesn't cause problems.

Past Trauma: The MRI interp you describe means it shows some pieces of bone which are normally connected to the fibula typical of what they see after past injury. What matters more is how you feel and if your ankle problem is troubling you. If so, you may wish to consult a doctor. Ilike an orthopedist or podiatrist. Your family doctor may or may not feel able to give you the best care for this.Ol.
