A member asked:

If my 14 year old passes out for more than a minute and wakes up having problems breathing and we go to the hospital, will he most likely be admitted?

Likely: Depending on the specifics of what actually happened, your son's past medical history, and the results of any tests performed, he may warrant at least overnight observation. It is hard to advise without knowing the details. I would plan on taking some overnight things and making a contingency plan for staying. He may not get admitted, but i would be prepared. I hope he feels better soon.

Maybe: He clearly needs to be evaluated, but admitting him to the hospital depends upon the diagnosis and potential problem.
