BACK ATTACK: The complex motions of the spine make it susceptible to injury in many locations. The supporting soft tissues and powerful muscles also are at risk. If imaging did not disclose an abnormality, that does not mean one doesn't exist. Alternative therapies like accupuncture, manipulation and massage can help. Radiating pain suggests nerve involvement and a physician should do an exam to be sure.
