Inappropriate affect: Laughing at sad things could be a sign that painful stimuli are too difficult for you to deal with. In this sense, your laughter is being used as a defense mechanism to prevent you from experiencing the pain of the situation. A good therapist could help you learn how to manage feelings more appropriately.

Sadness: It is not uncommon for people who are anxious in difficult situations to laugh, I have seen people laugh at funerals out of anxiety and nervousness. I do think it would help you to become aware when you are feeling threatened by certain situations to you can develop and grow to the point where your emotions match the situations you encounter.Best.
