Get evaluated.: Small wounds can be rinsed with sterile saline and dressed with a topical antibiotic ointment and covered with a sterile dressing. Deeper more involved wounds with extending redness past the immediate margins will require a more aggressive approach such as incision and drainage, or debridement, and possible oral antibiotics. See your physician to see what is best for your type of wound.

Don't press on it..: Wounds should be clean and protected to heal. Pressing on them can cause damage to the tissue. If redness or swelling develops seek attention. If you have not seen a doctor for an evaluation it may be time to go now.
