Inhalers: If you have bronchitis you would need antibiotics and possibly an inhaler. If you have asthma that was made worse by smoking then inhalers would be the answer. COPD does not develop after one yr of smoking. See an allergist or pulmonologist if your primary doctor is having difficulty treating you. A chest x-ray and a breathing test may be needed.
