Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis is a condition manifested by loss of total bone mass and which is a consequence of aging. Women develop the condition at an earlier age than men. Osteoporosis can be the result of other medical conditions and medications. It can result in hip fractures and vertebral compression fractures most commonly seen in elderly women.
