Yes: Brownish urine may be concentrated meaning that you are not drinking enough water. However, i would recommend calling your doctor's office for a urinalysis to make sure that nothing else more serious is going on.

Can constipation cause urine dark brown color ?

Constipation: My first gut sense as a physician is that you must be dehydrated. Your body is trying to compensate by keeping ahold of as much fluid as possible. This can lead to constipation and dark urine. Please begin drinking fluids until your urine returns to normal. If you are not having any fevers or pain from the constipation one of the tricks is to drink three liters of fluids in one hour. It works!
A 23-year-old male asked:

Isit normal to have brown urine this as only happened once?

Dehydration: Can indicate dehydration (which if only once, you corrected), or transient muscle injury that resolved, or blood (/?Menstrual?) combining with urine. As long as resolved, no major concern. If recurs, should get urine checked by dr / urgent care to be sure.

A 39-year-old female asked:

What does brown urine mean and positive leukocytes mean?

Dr. Donald Colantino
Internal Medicine 61 years experience
Brown urine: The usual cause of brown urine is bile in the urine caused by blockage in the bile ducts in the liver, gall bladder, and common bile duct by stones or growths and seen in some cases of hemolytic anemias. Leucocytes(white blood cells) in the urine are seen with inflammation in the urinary tract and infection is usually the cause. Vaginal discharge may contaminate and cause leukocytes in the urine.
