A member asked:

How harmful is letting a smoker hold a baby against their clothes.? we say no they have to change clothes and they say we are over reacting ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Passive smoke exposr: The infant held by a smoker will easily acquire particles of smoke that line their nasal passages & irritate them for a period of at least 2 wks. These infants have 2x the respiratory illness & ear infections than non exposed kids. The most loving thing a smoker can do for a baby is quit smoking or work hard to never expose them to the musty smell of smoke in their hair or clothes. You r right !
