I have constant mucus deep in the lungs. i had pneumonia 3 months ago which was treated with a 5 day z pack. i'm stillwaking up with sticky mucus that's hard to get out. what should i do?

Go see your doctor: Might need a stronger antibiotic, have bll=ood drawn along with a chest xray taken.

Try Mucinex (guaifenesin): Mucinex (guaifenesin) thins out mucus and makes it easier to cough up. You would also need to increase your fluids to help the medication work better. It also sounds like you may be allergic to something. Taking an antihistamine, like zyrtec or Claritin before bed, should stop the mucus production completely...

Many possibilities: They range from allergies and asthma to smoking damage (COPD) and could also encompass infections, bacterial, viral, and fungal. There are even some genetic/hereditary conditions that could play a role in this.
