Osteochondral : Fragment is a piece of bone (osteo) and cartilage (chondral) that probably broke off when you dislocated your knee. Depending on size and location of the defect and how long it has been since the injury, an orthopedic surgeon may try to put the piece back where it came from and see if it heals. Alternatively, the surgeon may simply remove the loose body so it doesn't cause any further damage.
