See dentist ASAP: Teeth should not be loose. If they are, you may have disease of the supporting bone/gum complex, or a systemic problem such as diabetes. Don't let tis go...Have an examination asap. This is not a problem that self-resolves.

Need for evaluation: Patients with loose teeth is usually attributed to periodontal (gum) disease. The bone supporting teeth may be sufficiently lost resulting in your teeth to be loose. Other causes may be trauma or grinding your teeth. Call you dentist to have a comprehensive exam to determine cause of loose teeth, and your dentist will be able to formulate a treatment plan to address your loose teeth.

Need to see dentist: Loose teeth in an adult most likely are a sign of a bigger underlying problem. Gum disease is the loss of bone around teeth which may make them loose. Infection under the tooth may push the tooth up making it feel loose. Finally trauma (from a hit, teeth grinding, or biting down on something hard) can crack/break the tooth under the gums making teeth loose. See your dentist to determine cause.

Gum disease : Loose teeth in the mouth is a sure sign that periodontal disease has been active in the mouth for a while. If untreated the loose teeth are going to drop out of your mouth one at a time. The good news that that it is possible to stop the bacteria responsible for gum disease and to recover from having loose teeth. See your dentist for exam, x-rays and treatment. Good luck.

Bone Gone: Teeth are held in by bone. Loose teeth = lost bone or lost bone attachments. Only thing you can do is to loose the teeth or start proper treatment before it is too late.
