Maybe: If both twins are diagnosed in infancy, each may have inherited a genetic problem that caused each of them to develop their own tumor. Alternatively, in twins sharing one placenta (monochorionic), the cancer may have started in one twin and spread via the blood across the placenta to the other. There have also been cases where only one twin is affected so both do not always get the disease.
