A friend of mine has herpes and thinks it's funny to spread it to girls he meets at the bar - what can i do?

Admonish: I would admonish him and tell him that what he is doing is simply wrong and harmful and i would tell those around him about this if he insists on doing this. I would be concerned that he could be charge with assault by donig this. There are laws regarding someone doing this with known hiv. Talk to him seriously and consider whether you would want to distance your friendship if he continues.

Educate him about it: Herpes is a serious infection especially in women and more so in unsuspecting women who may be pregnant. It is a juvenile and dangerous thing to do. That's where education comes in. Get information and tell him to read it then ask if he still thinks it funny to behave that way. I doubt he would laugh if it happened to a family member of his. All the information you need is easily available.
