See someone soon: If you have never been exposed to herpes and this is your first..Lesions may appear before your igm antibodies (the first to be formed). So blood work immediately will only tell you if you have had a previous exposure and not known it. Medication now a days (acyclovir and valacyclovir) are very good at curing and preventing outbreaks. Obviously if theres an actual vesicle..It can be swabbed.
