Ask Peds: Likely a glycerin suppository will help move things from below. If this situation recurs or is ongoing, you should consult her pediatrician, as may need to be sure right kind of fiber (such as miralax) is being used--bulking agent might make her more uncomfortable when things aren't moving. Prunes, apple juice and the like also help move.

Discuss with pediatr: Generally you should not force this on your child. She may not be having bowel movements because she is defiant of your efforts (three year-olds). Try and use a reward mechanism. She will respond when she is ready.
