Might be flu: He should be seen at an urgent care center for evaluation. If cannot keep down liquids, will become dehydrated & make things worse. Best to get checked.

Vertigo: It sounds like he may have fluid in his ear which is causing him to have vertigo. He should be evaluated by an zent physician immediately.
