Removal: Removal is easy but should be performed by dermatology. Please see a dermatologist and request removal. It can be performed with snipping under local anesthesia or cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen treatment) among others.

A dermatologist...: ...Will be happy to snip them off for you. (well, maybe not happy, but he or she will do it.) the fact that yours are symptomatic often means that your insurance will cover the procedure - although that is not always true. But if they are itchy and painful, you really should have them removed, either way.
