There are really 2: Questions here. A boil in general is not normal but not unusual. It is an abnormal finding wherever it is. Once it drained, is it abnormal to have firm and inflamed tissue? No. If it all drained it may clear. It may also resume if all the material did not drain. Keep the area clean but if it worsens u may need antibiotics.
