A member asked:

Does a hebal medicine called "watsonal castoria" safe to intake by a g6pd deficient. my 1 year old baby got a lost bowel movement.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't use it: In my opinion, it is too risky to use herbal medicines (where you don't really know what they contain) when you have g6pd. This is especially true if the patient is only one year old. If your baby is constipated, increase their fluid intake (prune juice or apple juice work well). If this doesn't work, call their doctor for other advice.
