I have really bad breath and i think calculus is causing it? is this possible?

Yes: Calculus build up always has an overlying layer of plaque on it. This as well as inflammation or infection in the gums can cause bad breath. Have a good cleaning at your dentist and treat any underlying disease. Such as periodontal disease or cavities and then have great home care.
