See below: A yeast infection is an infection with one of the pathogenic yeast species usually candida sp. They can occur in many parts of the body, most commonly in the mouth-thrush and the vagina-vaginitis. Yeasts can also cause invasive infections with candidemia from IV catheters and in cancer patients on chemotherapy.
