Podiatrist: Plantar fasciitis would be best treated by a podiatrist.

Podiatrist: Although physiotherapist are excellent at what they do, many patients first see a physician before seeing a therapist. Many times plantar fasciitis can be fully treated by the doctor (podiatrist) before resorting to therapy. This also saves costs to the patient. I hope this helps!

Podiatrist or F/A Or: You probably want to see a specialist such as a foot and ankle specialist such as a podiatrist or foot and ankle ortho. The training these two specialist go thru is unrivaled compared to other specialties. But this in no way disregard the job of a physiotherapist. The are an an extremely important adjunct support in treatment.

Many possibilities: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as, infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
