Need to see Doctor: You will need a doctor to examine your breasts and order imaging studies such as mammogram and breast ultrasound. Bloody nipple discharge is worrisome for cancer.

Not usually: Breast pain and nipple discharge are infrequently signs of cancer. Pain may be related to fibrocystic changes or perhaps infection or inflammation. Nipple discharge may be due to a intraductal papilloma, a benign tumor within the duct system (usually near the nipple). You should have a physical exam, and possibly ultrasound to determine the cause of your symptoms.
