Not likely.: Whereas gestational diabetes is indeed elevated glucose due to Insulin resistance as is type ii diabetes, we do not see the long term effects with gdm that are seen with type ii such as neuropathy or effects on nerves and feelings. A more likel cause for your number would be 1. Pressure from blood vessels on the proximal nerves due to the increased blood volume in pregnancy. 2. Carpal tunnel.

Contributes: Swelling from retained fluid can cause numbness in the finger tips. If your hands are hot and numb you many not be eating properly for gestational diabetes, eat 6 equal meals with good quality protein, fresh vegetables and berries. Avoid sugar, wheat, and dairy which increase bacteria in GI that cause Insulin resistance, weight gain, and fluid retention. Check for low vit d, magnesium, and b-6.
