A variety of oma's: Pituitary adenoma, adrenal adenoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, and other tumors (lung, pancreas, thyroid, ) can produce to much cortisol, either directly or indirectly. If a tumor is found to be the cause, many of these are benign. They can be removed surgically.
