Yes: The adhesive used to maintain fake nails for over 6 months duration can damage the nail plate and make it susceptible to pick up a fungus or other infection. Fungus is everywhere and if it finds a weak area, it will begin to infiltrate. Have the nails examined to determine if the nails are damaged or infected.
