Need more info: Not all breast masses are cancerous. The way to know how suspicious a mass is for cancer is to look at a part of the report called the birads score. This is a numerical value and your doctor should explain the result as well as the recommendations for another mammogram or a biopsy.

Some masses: Some masses look benign on mammogram (like fibroadenoma or cysts) and do not need a biopsy, particularly if they have been unchanged over time.
