Viral vs. bacterial: A flu is due to infection by the influenza virus that affects your upper respiratory tract (nose, throat). The result is fever, generalized soreness weakness. The inflammation of your upper respiratory tract can result in sinusitis but not necessarily. Sinus infection is usually bacterial, affects the sinuses around your nose. Results in facial pain and puse from the nose.
