A sprained wrist?: I think this is what you are referring to. This is usually temporary. You can try icing the wrist at first. Try to limit any heavy lifting or overuse of the wrist. Lastly, you can try medications like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) to decrease the inflammation and pain.

A wrist sprain can b: Mild or subtle or can represent a fairly significant injury. So there is nothing as "just a sprain" just because an initial x-ray s is read as negative. So pf persistent pain you need a proper exam and a treatment plan.
