Heartburn: Acid can reflux from your stomach up into your esophagus. This is more likely to happen if you are drinking caffeine, alcohol, or eating anything spicy, acidic, citrus. Smoking also contributes. If this happens when you are exercising or you feel short of breath or have heart palpitations, contact your doc right away. Other red flags: blood in bm, black bm or weight loss.
