Painful Shoulders: Tendonitis is usually the result of overuse and inflammation. Activity modification is important to give your shoulders an opportunity to rest. Taking anti-inflammatory medication without modifying what is causing the irritation won't help. If the symptoms persist, you should be evaluated to make sure there's no impingement, tendinopathy or rotator cuff tear.
